J Hugh Wimbs, age 87, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at NHC Healthcare of Scott in Lawrenceburg, TN. He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, retired from Murray Ohio, and of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Wimbs served his country honorably in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noonan and Essie Lee Adams Wimbs; his wife, Gail Daniel Wimbs; and two sisters, Jean Bain and Elawese Newton.
He is survived by one son, Danny Wimbs (Tresa) of Five Points, TN; three daughters, Suzanne Dover (Steve) of Leoma, TN, Teresa Dickey (Chris) of Ethridge, TN and Lori Walters (Chris) of Leoma, TN; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Neal Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at Bonnertown Cemetery at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 21, 2020, with W.L. Wallace officiating. Family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
