Marion Melvin “Mel” Johnson, 93, of Huntsville, passed away Thursday, March 12th.
Mr. Johnson retired from CSX Railway where he worked as a freight conductor for 37 years. He was also a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church,
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Barbara Johnson; children, Mel Johnson (Connie), Vickie Hutchison (Michael), Dorothy Johnson, and Jeanne Stolaas (Robert); 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; sister, Frances Fisher; brother-in-law, Kenneth Jennings; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 17th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home, followed by funeral service at 11 a.m. with Keith McCloud officiating. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Downtown Rescue Mission.
