James Horace Duckworth, 72, of Huntsville, passed away Friday. Dr. Duckworth was a native of Jackson, Mississippi. He attended Provine High School in Jackson, MS and Mississippi State University. He graduated from dental school at the University of Tennessee in Memphis in 1971. He practiced dentistry in Huntsville for 39 years. He also retired as a Colonel from the US Army.
Survivors include wife of over 50 years, Sarah J. Duckworth; sons, Jeffrey A. Duckworth (Lara) of Wilmington, NC, and Michael J. Duckworth (Sherilyn) of Birmingham; brothers, William M. Duckworth (Gwen) of Lumberton, MS, and Ronald C. Duckworth of Bay Saint Louis, MS; and grandchildren, Myers Anne Duckworth, Emmitt Matthew Duckworth, Frances Corine Duckworth, Ruby Marion Narciso, and Ava Denell Hawkins.
A memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 15th, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home.
