Dr. Anthony Irvin Watkins, age 66 of Fultondale, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at St. Vincent’s Hospital.
Dr. Tony Watkins received his PhD in Educational Leadership. Dr. Watkins served as an educator, coach, principal and college professor. His proudest accomplishment as an educator was his girls softball team “Tonys Tigers”. He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, memorial services will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel. Mark Lockhart will officiate.
Dr. Watkins was preceded in death by his Mother-Vedia Wilson Watkins.
He is survived by his Wife-Diane K. Watkins of Fultondale; Father-Irvin Watkins (Ann) of Hoover; Mother-Dr. Caroline Watkins McCreless (John) of Birmingham; Son-Samuel Irvin Watkins of Atlanta; Step Son-Chad Humpries (Rachell); 7 Grandchildren.
