Edward G. Moomaw, age 92, of Russellville, passed away on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at his residence.
Ed was a good husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family. He loved people and never met a stranger. He enjoyed fishing, Nascar racing and dirt track racing. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and leaves behind many fond memories.
The visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 03, 2020 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. March 04, 2020 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. James McCullar officiating. The burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick Carl & Ethel (Brubaker) Moomaw; all of his brothers and sisters; and grandson, John Grayson Agee.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 59 years, Elsie Mae Winsted Moomaw; children, Nita Cook (Kevin), Kimberly Moon (Paul), James Moomaw (Miranda), Crystal Moomaw (Brian); grandchildren, Laura Kee, Marie Jenkins, Luke Britnell, Rachel Britnell, Amanda Bailey, Melissa Wimberley, Spencer Wimberley, Dixie Moomaw, Brianna Agee, Gabriella Robinson; honorary grandchildren, Austin McCaig, Braden McCaig, Hunter McCaig; eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces & nephews.
The pallbearers will be Luke Britnell, Shannon Jenkins, Austin McCaig, Braden McCaig, Hunter McCaig, and Chris Smith.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to our special hospice nurse, Michelle, for your love and care of our family.
