Lillie Vernell Owens Lillie Vernell Owens, age 93, passed on Thursday, 27 February 2020 at her home in Huntsville, AL with her family by her side.

Vernell was born and raised in Marshall County. She loved gardening and kept her yard beautiful year-round. Vernell had several hobbies: needle point, crocheting, sewing and making beautiful quilts. Another thing she loved to do is travel with her loving husband Sidney. These travels were all around the United States and including Germany to visit her daughter and her family. Her and Sidney were married for over 60 years.

Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, 2 March 2020 at Albertville Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Dr. Rev. George Miller will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Coy Tibbitt, Keith Echols, Donald Adarr, Melissa Whorton, Bradley Whorton, and Jonathan Lynn.

Visitation will be Sunday, 2 March 2020 from 1230 until 2 before the service.

She is survived by her daughter, Janice Lynn, granddaughter, Tammie Adarr (spouse Donald Adarr) and granddaughter in law, Karen Lynn. Also, by four great grandchildren, Melissa Whorton (spouse – Bradley Whorton), Chadd Adarr, Jonathan Lynn and Kathleen Adarr. Vernell has one great great grandchild, Andrew Whorton. She has one ‘special’ son, George Miller and a longtime friend, June Posey.

She is preceded by death by her husband Sidney Owens, son-in-law, Richard Lynn and grandson, Wesley Lynn. Also, her parents, Walter and Viola Brooks, sisters, Nella Mae Meeks, Bradie Tibbitt, and brothers, Harry Brooks and Herbert Brooks.
