Jan Sheryl Grass (nee Rochlin), of Huntsville, passed away after a brief illness Thursday surrounded by her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Henry Mark Grass; her devoted children, Sara Beth Ridgeway of Centreville, VA and Johnathan David Grass of Huntsville; and her brother, Jerald Rochlin of Croydon, PA.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she came to Huntsville as a new bride. While raising her children over the years, she served the community as a volunteer teaching assistant as Chaffee elementary, a Cub Scout den mother, and as a Sunday Hebrew school teacher at Temple B’nai Sholom, where she was a longtime member. In more recent years, she spent her time traveling and taking ocean cruises with her husband.
The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at Temple B’nai Sholom followed by a brief graveside service at Maple Hill Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at the home of Henry Grass, 7810 Logan Drive, Huntsville, on Monday from 4pm to 6pm and Tuesday from 4pm to 6pm.
