Funeral Services for Mrs. Kitty Jo Stewart, age 83 of Bluff Springs, will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020 at 11:30 A.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Rev. Harold McCain officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashland City Cemetery.
Mrs. Stewart passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at the Clay County Nursing Home. A lifelong resident of Clay County, she worked many years in a poultry house collecting eggs. Mrs. Stewart was a homemaker, a loving mother and she never met a stranger.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Willard “Dink” Stewart; her daughter, Mary Nell Stewart; her son, Jessie Stewart, all of Bluff Springs; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Cotney and her stepfather, Junior Stewart; two sons, Jimmy and Billy Stewart; her sister, Wynona Benefield; and two brothers: Henry Paul and Franklin Luke Cotney.
Floyd Stewart, Joseph Stewart, Dean Brown, Steven Lowry, Jacky Brown, Jr. and Douglas Stewart will serve as active pallbearers.
Danny Brown and Alexis Stewart will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 27, 2020, from 5:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville. The family requests no flowers but will be accepting donations.
