Mr. Marlin O'Dell Arrington Mr. Marlin O’Dell Arrington, age 73, passed away at Diversicare of Arab, on Saturday, February 22, 2020.
Mr. Arrington was born in Fyffe, Alabama on September 13, 1946 to the late Alvin Arrington and Bessie Tipton Hickey. After graduating High School Marlin continued his education to receive his master’s degree. He worked as a computer manager for the Redstone Arsenal, where he later retired. He was a U.S. Veteran serving our country during the Vietnam War. Mr. Arrington moved from Anniston, Alabama and has been a part of the Arab community since 1991. Throughout his life, Marlin has acquired many hobbies such as; playing music, refurbishing & building guitars, traveling to different flea markets and pawn shops, hunting and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. Marlin was a member of the Old Brashiers Chapel Church.
Mr. Arrington is survived by his wife of thirty years, Roxann Darst Arrington; children, Ryan (Magan) Culler, Renee (Willie) Parker, Larry (Emma) Arrington, Daryl (Tonia) Arrington, Brandi (Chris) Cosby; twelve grandchildren; siblings, Darrell (Tina) Arrington, Windy Freeman, Sherri (Tony) McSweeny and Billy Hickey.
In addition to his parents, Marlin is preceded in death by his sister, Darius Galloway.
A visitation for Mr. Arrington will be held on Monday, February 24, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
Funeral services will be at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Brookwood Cemetery, Bro. Josh Garmony, officiating and the U.S. Army providing military honors.
Pallbearers will include; Willie Parker, Ryan Culler, Asher Cooper, Jacob Culler, Lynn Harper and Bob Charles.
