Roy McKinley “Bud” Lay, Jr., 89, of Nauvoo, went to be with the Lord Satruday, Feb. 22, 2020, at Walker Rehabilitation Center in Carbon Hill.
He was a member of Saragossa Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held at Saragossa Baptist Church Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020, from 6 to 7 p.m., with the funeral to follow at the church at 7 p.m. Burial will follow at Old Prospect Cemetery in Nauvoo. Larry Hartness will officiate.
Mr. Lay was preceded in death by his father, Roy McKinley Lay, Sr.; mother, Ann Lay; brother, Jack Lay; sister, Patricia Trenor; father-in-law, Edgar Herron; mother-in-law, Dolly Herron; and son-in-law, Bob Mayfield.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Virginia Lay; daughter, Luann Mayfield Ruth (Chris); sons, James Lay (Kim) and David Allen Lay (Vicki); grandchldren, Hannah Lay, Amandelyn Sorrell, Kendall Lay and Colby Browning; and seven great-grandchildren.
