Nelson Eugene Waldrop, 71, of Fort Payne, passed away Friday, February 21, 2020. He was born September 18, 1948 to the late James Roy and Nelle Mae Nelson Waldrop. Mr. Waldrop loved music and playing the guitar. He never met a stranger and loved his family, especially his grandchildren who called him PawPaw.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Lynch officiating. Burial will follow in Fischer Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 until 6 p.m. and Monday from 12 noon until the 2 p.m. hour of service.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Vickie Waldrop; children, April Evans (David), Jonathan Waldrop (Leah), Daniel Waldrop (Lindsey), Anna Harding (Justin), and Amy King (D.J.); grandchildren, Megan Johnson (Hunter), Allie Williams (Hayden), Elisabeth Womack (Randy), Dylan Evans, Maddie, Jon William, Parker, and Macy Waldrop, Ashton, Jonah, and Palmer Waldrop, Emma, Nora, Olivia, Josie, and Naomi Harding, and Cooper and Sadie King; great-grandchildren, Everleigh Johnson and Liam and Layton Williams; and brother, Richard Waldrop (Sheila).
