Henry Eugene “Gene” Lane, age 66, of Russellville, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at his residence.
Gene loved his whole family, but his grandchildren was the light of his world. He loved spending time with them, and affectionately called them Cletus, Possum, and Buddy Sue. He loved driving dump trucks and telling jokes. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
The visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2020 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Sister Pearl Shelton officiating. Burial will be at King Cemetery.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Edward & Fannie Mae (Borden) Lane; brothers, Jerry “J.C.” Lane, R.C. Lane, Larry Joe Lane; and grandchildren, Promise Leshae Calhoun, Joseph Lee Calhoun, and Isabella Hope Miller.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 45 years, Mary Jenell Lane; children, Keith Eugene Lane (Angela), John Henry Lane (Janasa), William “Joseph” Calhoun, Tonya Michelle Calhoun; grandchildren, Chloe Michelle Calhoun, Maci LeNay Calhoun, Takota Lane Calhoun, Karleigh Grace Calhoun, Breanna Clemons; sisters, Brenda Wright, Ellen Wright (Curtis); brother, Leroy Lane; and several nieces & nephews.
The pallbearers will be Lucas Borden, Randy Hill, Jeff Wright, Elton Lee Borden, Takota Calhoun, Jeff Chaney, and Johnny Thomas Borden.
The family would like to extend a sincere thanks to Dr. Keith Morrow and his staff, our nurse, Misty Gibson; and Sister Pearl Shelton for the love and care of our family.
