Frank Houston Cox, Jr., age 51, passed away January 26, 2020 at his home in Decherd, TN. He was born in Leavenworth, Kansas on January 3, 1969 to his parents Doris Frances Delbridge Cox and the late Frank Houston Cox, Sr. from Murfreesboro, TN. He was preceded in death by his grandparents William Theodore and Marjorie Alice Cox, his uncle William (Bill) T. Cox, Jr. and his aunt Alice Cox Montgomery.
He is survived by his loving mother, Doris Cox, Murfreesboro. Also surviving are his uncles, Dan Cox (Shirley), Fostoria, KS, Roger Cox (Diane), Murfreesboro, Mark Cox (Judy), Shelbyville, TN and aunt Deloris Cox (Bill), Shelbyville, and uncle Wallace Montgomery (Alice), Valdosta, GA and a large family of cousins and relatives.
Frank graduated from Northwest High School in 1987 in Clarksville, TN. Following in his father’s footsteps and continuing the family’s military tradition, he served in the U.S. Army. After his military service he worked with auto mechanics and appliance repair.
Fishing and hunting with his father were two of Frank’s favorite activities, he loved fishing tournaments and enjoyed making his own famous deer jerky.
He was a devoted son and dedicated primary caregiver for his father during his struggle with cancer and was the on-going caregiver for his mother who was stricken with crippling rheumatoid arthritis at a young age.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
