Donald “Pedo” Ray Daniel

Donald Ray “Pedo” Daniel, of Cullman, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the age of 87. Pedo; as he was nicknamed many years ago, was a very loving and caring husband, daddy and papa. He is fondly remembered by always saying “It won’t take you five minutes” when he was asking someone to help him with something. He was a United States Navy veteran and served in the Korean War. Pedo never met a stranger, he loved talking to everyone and always had a joke to tell. He worked 40+ years at the Cullman Electric Co-op. He is preceded in death by his parents: Stephen Presley and Ruth O’Neal Daniel; his wife, Nell Ann Daniel; sisters: Ethel Pierce and Orene Shaw and brothers: Lester Daniel, Henry Daniel and James Daniel. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters: Nell (Tommy) McWhorter, Del (James) Franklin and Pam Miller; grandchildren: Daniel (Meridith) Stricklin, Jonathan (Amanda) Franklin and Benjamin (Skarlet) Farris; great grandchildren: Matthew, Harper, Knoxx and Nora James and a host of nieces and nephews. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of Moss Service Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Samuel Tucker officiating. His family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 12:00 until service time. Burial will immediately follow at Cullman City Cemetery with the U.S. Navy providing Military Honors.
