Mr. Buford Samson Dobbs, age 93 of Elkmont, AL passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at his home. Mr. Dobbs was born on October 24, 1926 to Eddie Brondel Dobbs and Celia Key Dobbs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Julian Dobbs of Tuscaloosa, AL and Raiford Dobbs of Fayetteville, AR; sisters, Christine Wiggins of Tuscaloosa, AL and Maxine Norris of North Port, AL; great-granddaughter, Emily Bates of South Haven, MS.
Mr. Dobbs is survived by his wife, Martha Dobbs; son, Paul Dobbs, Sr. (Deborah); daughter, Martha Manwarring (Jim Hooper); 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Loyal Farley of Tuscaloosa, AL, Betty Stival of Fayetteville, AR and Joan Turner of Buena Vista, AR; brothers, Solan Dobbs (Vera) of Beaufort, SC and William Dobbs of Palm Beach, FL.
Mr. Dobbs was a member of Coxey Church of Christ.
Services for Mr. Dobbs will be at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:45 AM prior to the service. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Jasper, AL.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Smith, John Lovell and Jerry Goode.
