Melissa McLaurine Frager, 55, of Plano Texas, died peaceful in her sleep Tuesday after fighting a year-long battle with a rare form of cancer. Born in Huntsville, AL, she attended Huntsville High School and later graduated from Auburn University and moved to Dallas, Texas to start her career. In 1990, she met David and they married in 1994. Her oldest daughter, Courtney, was born in 1996 and her youngest daughter, Erica, was born in 1998. Melissa enjoyed outdoor pursuits such as skiing, walking and riding bikes, she loved reading and had a huge heart for all animals, especially dogs.
Survivors include her husband of 26 years, David Frager; daughters, Courtney and Erica Frager; father, Fred McLaurine; sister, Mary Nell McLaurine; brother, John McLaurine; and dogs, Lexi and Chocolate. She was preceded in death by her mother, Judy McLaurine.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 31st, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 1st, in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
