Jack Story, age 94, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Waynesboro Health and Rehabilitation Center in Waynesboro, TN. He was born August 29, 1925 in Westpoint, Tennessee, a graduate of the University of North Alabama where he received a B.S. Degree in Education and Meteorology, retired from the Social Security Administration, and taught at Ethridge School where he coached the girls’ basketball team.  Mr. Story served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force during WWII where he was a Tail Gunner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom C. and Villa Nelson Story; his wife of 70 years, Betty Bernice Hollis Story; and one granddaughter, Shannon Lynette Story.

He is survived by four children, Patti Nelson (Alvin), Tommy Story (Diane), Donny Story (Terri), and Christy Willis (S. Q. “ChooChoo”); adopted daughter for life, Barbara Wideman Garland; eight grandchildren, Tim Nelson, Susie Davis, Keisha Story Katevas, Tippi Story, Aaron Story, Kacy Story, Brock Willis, and Blair Willis; eleven great-grandchildren with one on the way; and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Neal Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 29, 2020, with Jerry Robbins officiating.  Interment will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Wayne County, TN.
