Lonnie Sampson, Sr., 78 of Moundville, Alabama born April 9, 1941 in Cameron, West Virginia to Robert Sampson and Ruby Sampson and attended Cameron High School. He received his diploma at Ft. Knox, Kentucky. Mr. Sampson served in the United States Army for 9 years and 9 months and was an employee at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steele in Wheeling, West Virginia for 14 years. He was also an employee at Ft. Gordon, Georgia, for 4 years and was a retired ISA Corps Engineer in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Mr. Sampson was also a retired employee at Wholesale LP Transport for 17 years. He loved to mow grass, do woodwork, and work with his horse, Black Hawk.
Died on Sunday, December 15, 2019.
Visitation: Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Burial: Oak Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Braxton Beavers, Brylan Beavers, Steven Ritchea, Jason Grady, Clint Gilland and Michael Shelnut.
Honorary Pallbearers: Dr. Larry Skelton, the Nurses and Staff at Princeton Baptist Hospital, Amedysis Hospice Staff, and Long-Time Friends, Jim and Mary Solar.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Spirit Building Fund.
