Funeral Service for David Joseph Sandlin, age 68. of Cullman, will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at Sacred Heart Church with Father Patrick Egan, OSB, officiating; burial at Round Top Cemetery, Falkville, AL.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Sandlin passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at his residence. He was born May 19, 1951, to the late Alton W. and Rosemary T. Schaefers Sandlin of Cullman, AL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Rosemary T. Chaney.
Survivors include his wife, Labrenda Sandlin; son, Joshua A. Sandlin; stepson, Ronald Keith Hollis; stepdaughter, Candace (Steve) Baird; brothers, Alton (Deborah) Sandlin, Peter A. Sandlin, James Dan Sandlin, and Paul A. Sandlin; sisters, Celestine A. (Matthew) Chappel, Regina R. (Wayne) Hays, and Mary Alice Sandlin; uncle, Gerald (Barbara) Sandlin; aunt, Ruth Roberson; grandchildren, Taylor Driver, Emma-Leigh Sandlin, Brittany Hopkin, Stevie Lynn Wilkson, and Drew Anna Hollis; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Mr. Sandlin served 6 years in the United State Army before joining the Cullman County Sheriff Office. He retired as a Captain after 35 years of service to our community.

Visitation will be from 7:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2019, at Sacred Heart Church with rosaries to follow.
