Nelda Jean Gilliland Eastman, age 87, of Sulligent, AL passed away Saturday, November 23, 2019 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 25, 2019 at 3:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in New Hope Cemetery. Bro. Matthew Paul to officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral service from 2:00pm until 3:00pm.

Jean was born on March 6, 1932 in Sulligent, AL to the late Felix Whitehead and the late Cordie Dodd. She attended Pine Springs School. Jean previously worked at McCoy Manufacturing and Healthtex. She enjoyed playing Bingo, watching the Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Jean was a member of Taylor Springs Freewill Baptist Church.
