Mark Anthony Cabrera, 81, of Huntsville passed away Thursday at Huntsville Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Mark was born in Mexicalli Baja California, Mexico. He was the son of Antonio Lopez Morero and Elena Cabrera and the beloved nephew of Augustine and Amparo Lopez, Francisco and Irma Lopez, and George and Ernestina Cabrera of Mexicalli. He attended the University of California, Berkeley and graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a degree in Nuclear Physics. He also earned four master’s degrees in various fields of study. He served for 15 years in the US Air Force, initially stationed in Colorado Springs, CO, and traveling the world. Mark came to Huntsville in 1979 to accept a position with SAIC as a Radar Systems Analyst. He later moved to Raytheon Corporation where he worked for over 35 years, retiring as a Sr. Engineer and Radar Systems Analyst.
Mark is survived by his wife of 52 years, Titi Cabrera, daughter; Claudia Cabrera Agnew, son-in-law; Scott Alan Agnew; grandchildren, Katarina Racquel Agnew and Nicholas Mark Agnew and five beloved pets.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 1, 2019 from 4:30 p.m.- 6:30 p.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church followed by a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Mark loved his family, eating spicy foods (especially hot chili peppers), gardening and Alabama Crimson Tide Football. His favorite pastime in later years was taking cruise vacations with his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catholic Charities or the Good Shepherd World Mission Team.
