James B Whitaker of Madison passed away Sunday evening in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family.
James was preceded in death by his mother and father Mattie and Oscar Whitaker. Sister’s Loreen Twitty and Zoma Harrod and wife Janell R. Whitaker.
James is survived by daughter’s Teresa Dianne Lusk, Jacqueline Elaine Whitaker and son James B Whitaker Jr.
James was a loving husband and father who loved the Lord! James was a member of The West Huntsville Church of Christ and was a founding member of The Slaughter Road Church of Christ which originated in the Whitaker home and later moved to Slaughter Road.
He was born in 1932 and was raised in Madison County and graduated from Riverton High School. After graduation he served his ccountry joining the Army where he served in the Panama Canal.
After serving in the Armed Forces James went to work for United Air Lines where he worked for 37 years before retiring in 1993.
Visitation will be Wednesday 8/21/19 at Berryhill Funeral Home 6-8pm. Service will be at 2pm Thursday 8/22/19 at West Huntsville Church of Christ followed by burial at Maple Hill Cemetery.
