Rev. Ernest Dewitt Hill, Jr., 78, of Madison, passed away Sunday.
Rev. Hill served for a number of years in Baptist churches in the past and he served at Mt. Zion Baptist Church for 44 years as Senior Adult Minister, Minister of Education, and Minister of Music and Youth. He was a member of the Mississippi National Guard, loved Ole Miss sports, and enjoyed watching his grandsons play sports.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Dewitt Hill; sister, Barbara Fortner; and parents, Ernest Hill, Sr. and Robbie Johns Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Hill; son, Tony Hill (Kristi); and three grandsons, Taylor, Parker, and Noah.
Visitation is Thursday, July 25th from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church followed by service at 2:00 with Dr. Kevin Moore and Dr. Ron
Madison officiating. Burial is at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Britton church plant c/o Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.
