Funeral services for Gladys Odell Dingler Carden, age 90 of Lineville, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Bellview Baptist Church with Bro. Wayne Adams and Bro. Buford Gaines officiating.
Mrs. Carden passed away on July 7, 2019 at Lineville Health & Rehab. A lifelong resident of Clay County, she worked in textile as a seamstress and was a homemaker. She was a graduate from Business College in LaGrange, GA and her favorite hobbies included sewing, cooking, and quilting; but first and foremost she was a mother and a grandmother.
Mrs. Carden is survived by three daughters: Janice Pitts (Jimmy) of Lineville, Patricia Carden Hucke of Ashland, and Sharon Wadsworth (Mike) of Ashland; one son, Clifton Carden of Lineville; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George Patrick Dingler and Mary Elizabeth Buchannan Dingler, her husband of 54 years, Alfred C. Carden, one great-grandchild, Alyssa Traylor, and twelve brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be: Charles Sims, Jeremy Traylor, Jesus Escamilla, Daniel Escamilla, James Lee and Brandon Medders.
The staff of Lineville Heath & Rehab will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville, and from 1:00 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M. at Bellview Baptist Church.
