Mrs. Rachel Witsell Gibbs, 71, died Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Sanctuary House in Tupelo, MS. She was born June 8, 1948 in Memphis, TN, to Roland Witsell and Elizabeth Tucker Witsell. She graduated high school in Memphis and worked in accounting for many years, employed by Catherine’s Dress Shops, in the Memphis main office. She married Leonard R. Gibbs on June 12, 1987 in Memphis. Rachel and Leonard moved to Counce, TN, from Memphis seventeen years ago. She was a member of Pickwick United Methodist Church.
Rachel enjoyed working in the toy store for the church during the Christmas holidays. She had a servant’s heart and loved doing volunteer work in the community. She was a former member of the Rotary Club and loved to fish.
A memorial service will be at 11 AM, Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Pickwick United Methodist Church in Counce, TN. Visitation will be from 10 AM to service time Wednesday only.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard Gibbs of Counce, TN, and her son, Garrett Glaser of Senatobia; her brother, Milton Witsell of Arlington, TN; 1 grandchild, Stephanie, and 2 great-grandchildren, Cam and Raylon.
