James Sparks, Sr., 91, died Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Generations of Red Bay, Red Bay, AL. He was born in Alabama, was a factory worker and a member of The Church of God, Red Bay, AL.
Services will be Tuesday, June 25, 4 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Bobby Clark officiating. Burial will be in Old Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Golden, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are three children – James Sparks, Jr. (Cathern), Walter Sparks (Patricia) and Frances Garrison (Wayne) all of Red Bay, AL; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother – William Sparks, Linden, AL and one sister – Virginia Hill, Linden, AL.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethelene Sparks, an infant son, Thomas Sparks and his parents, Walter and Willie Beverly Sparks.
Pallbearers will be Josh Elrod, James Earl Sparks, Eddie Cothrum, Ricky Lindley, Andrew Huston and Ryder Johnson.
Visitation will be Monday, June 24, 6-9 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
