Jerry R. Comer, age 69, of Sulligent, AL passed away Sunday, June 23, 2019 at DCH in Tuscaloosa, AL. Funeral services with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 11:00am from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with cremation to follow. Ms. Jean Rogers officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral service from 10:00am until 11:00am.
Jerry was born on July 26, 1949 in Sulligent, AL to the late Willie T. Comer and the late Bena E. Chandler. He was U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran and Decorated War Veteran. His many decorations included, Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart 2nd Award, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Citation and Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Expert Marksmanship Qualification Badge with Machine Gun M60 Bar, Expert Qualification Badge Rifle, Combat Infantryman Badge, Two Overseas Service Bars, and Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Silver Service Star. Jerry was a member of Mulberry Springs Baptist Church.
