Lloyd (Mitch) H. Mitchell, age 91, of Huntsville, Alabama died Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at home in Huntsville, AL. He was born November 20, 1927 in Eugene, Oregon. He was the son of Clyde William and Dorothy (Boehringer) Mitchell. Mr Mitchell graduated from Eugene High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Oregon at Eugene. He served with the Fifth Army Air Corps during World War II, followed by an extensive career with the Central Intelligence Agency where he was assigned to foreign service in several countries. He received the Career Intelligence Medal for Exceptional Achievement, several Certificates of Exceptional Service for Performance Under Conditions of Hazard and Hardship, in addition to various other commendations. In retirement “Mitch” was a successful realtor and invented a board game. He enjoyed golf, Tuesday lunches with his dear friends Dick, Neil, and George, watching movies, and being surrounded by his beloved family. He was usually good-natured, and kept all who know him chuckling with his ever-present sense of humor and captivating stories.
Lloyd was preceded in death by Etta Louise Mitchell, his wife of 60 years, and is survived by two daughters, Lori Mitchell Delcampo of Griffin, Georgia, and Jan Louise Mitchell of Midlothian, Virginia, one grandson, Allen Mitchell Jackson of Madison, Alabama, and one granddaughter, Anna Louise Doutt of Glenn Allen, VIrginia.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date at Berryhill Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
