René Riviere, 83, of Huntsville, passed away Monday. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Neely Riviere, parents, Peter and Mary Riviere, brothers, Peter Jr., Robert, Kenneth, Joseph and Ross, and sister, Joycelyn Riviere Newton.
René was a graduate of LSU School of Engineering and spent his entire career with the Department of the Army.
Survivors include his wife, Patrice Riviere; sons, Lawson Moore (Carly) and Michael Riviere (Tammy); daughters, Michelle Riviere and Monique Riviere Walker (Ed); grandchildren, Marissa and Tara Cutten, Edward and Cydia Walker, and Carver Moore; brother, Donald Riviere; sisters, Elaine Scallan, Carol Roy, Jean Pitt, and Jeanne DeLaune; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Burial will be in Faith Memorial Park.
