Emily Carolyn Maynard, age 74, passed away peacefully in her home in Decatur on Friday, June 15, 2019. An incredible woman, she devoted her life to God, Church, her family, children and grandchildren. She sacrificed for her Country by supporting her husband during the Vietnam War. From her birth on April 17, 1945 in Indiana to her death on Friday, she blessed every person around her with kindness, selflessness, and love. She was born to the late Mr. William Hill and Mrs. Ozeline Houk-Hill. As her health declined, she stressed to her loved ones how crucial forgiveness and love is in life and showed complete joy and excitement in her upcoming journey to heaven. She is survived by her children: Barry Maynard, Brian Maynard, and Christina Maynard, 7 Grandchildren, 4 Brothers, 3 Sisters, and many other family members and friends.
The service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Madison First Church of the Nazarene, 8234 Madison Pike, Madison, Al. 35758.
And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”
I Peter 4:8
