Joe Ernestine “Dick” Townsend, age 88, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Monday, June 03, 2019 at his residence. He was a native of Giles County, TN, retired from Murray Ohio, attended Appleton Church of Christ and Salem Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Wilson and Lura Hester Townsend.
He is survived by wife, Peggy Rosson Townsend of Lawrenceburg, TN; two sons, Bud Townsend (Angela) of Lawrenceburg, TN and Ray Townsend (Tina) of Murfreesboro, TN; one daughter, Vickie Lynn Misenhimer of Lawrenceburg, TN; four grandchildren, Zach, Ian, Asa, and Chloe; and six great-grandchildren, Maddie, Sophie, Hudson, Allie Kate, Kensley, and Logan.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, June 06, 2019 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Friday, June 07, 2019, with Keith Barnett officiating. Interment will follow at Leoma Cemetery in Leoma, TN.
