Betty Sue Purcell, age 79, of Leoma, TN passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019. She was a native of Lawrence County, TN, former owner of Betty’s Clothing, retired customer service manager from Walmart, and a member of Leoma Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Edna Belew Whitley; three sisters, Gladys Phillips, Joann Higdon, and Debbie Whitley; and one brother, Marcus Ray Whitley.
She is survived by her husband, Lewis Purcell of Leoma, TN; one son, Steve Purcell (Teresa) of Leoma, TN; two sisters, Kristy Creech (Michael) of Leoma, TN and Barbara Conner (Cecil) of Florence, AL; two grandsons, Stevie Purcell and Cruz Purcell, both of Leoma, TN; two great-granddaughters, Sophie Purcell and Daisy Purcell, both of Leoma, TN; and one great-grandson, Bentley Purcell of Leoma, TN.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Thursday, May 30, 2019, with T. R. Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Leoma Cemetery in Leoma, TN.
