Billy Ray Kilgore, age 80, of Jasper, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at his residence.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Edgil Grove Baptist Church, funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. David Miller and Hancel Cox will officiate.
Mr. Kilgore worked at Marylee #1 mines and as a young man he worked many years as a brick mason in Jasper and Birmingham. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing. He also enjoyed coon hunting, raising cattle, a good deal and time spent in his garden.
Mr. Kilgore was preceded in death by his Parents-Johnie Kilgore and Clearcie Woods Kilgore; Kelcie Kilgore, Norman Kilgore and P.C. Kilgore; Sisters-Grovie Sherer, Meady Alexander, Ruby Kilgore, Verna Mae Nicholas and Bama Kilgore.
He is survived by his Wife-Annie Jo Garrigan Kilgore; Daughters-Brenda Dix (Mike) and Karen Scott (Mike); Sons-Doug Kilgore and Shannon Kilgore; Sister-Gay Freeman; Brother-Walker Kilgore; 10 Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandchild; Many, many friends and family.
Pallbearers will be Brendan Dix, Hunter Forrester, Brady Isbell, Heath Richards, Alex Robbins and Luke Barnett.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Harrison Kilgore, Whitt Kilgore and Emory Kilgore.
