The funeral service for Mary Aline Richardson, age 100 of Ashland, will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Rev. John Luckie officiating. Burial will follow at the Ashland City Cemetery.
Mrs. Richardson passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Clay County Nursing Home in Ashland. She was born in St. Clair County and was a former resident of Alexander City and Goodwater, but had lived in Clay County since 1964. She worked at Russell Manufacturing, and also was a housewife, and a loving mother and grandmother to her large family.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Campbell (Henry) of Arley; three sons: Clarence Richardson (Levis) of Goodwater, Clyde Richardson (Tabitha) of Ashland, and Carlton Richardson (Betty) of Cullman; nineteen grandchildren, thirty three great-grandchildren, and many great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur William and Amanda Elizabeth New Hindman; her husband, James Aubrey Richardson; one daughter, Mary Lane; four sons: Billy, Timmy, James, and Lee Richardson; and five sisters and four brothers.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 5:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The flower request NO flowers, however memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Clay County.
