Mr. Wayne “The Bugman” Fields, age 85, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2019. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served his country in the Korean War. He was a retired coal miner and owned Fields Pest Control.
Mr. Fields is survived by his son, Gary Wayne Fields (Terry) of Dora, AL; sister, Mary Smith (Sam) of Mt. Olive, AL; granddaughters, Clarissa Blackmon (Eric)of Adamsville, AL, and Jessica Long (Danny) of Chelsea, AL; and two great grandsons, Garret Blackmon, and Mason Long, special “brothers and sisters”; Buddy Hicks (Cathy), Larry Little (Linda) and Patricia Reed, special nephews and nieces and a host of family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife; Mary Hicks Fields, parents; Ernest and Rosa Fields, siblings; Onley, Harold, Paul, Dickie, Richard, Lee, Fay, and Martha.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to his caregivers; Julie Burr and Scott Little.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 30, 2019 in the Bell Sumiton Chapel. Visitation will take place in the chapel on Monday, April 29, 2019 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
