Doris Ann Wright, 68, passed away at home on April 23, 2019. She was born October 8, 1950 in Beacon, NY and grew up in nearby Fishkill, NY. She always had a great love for her home state of New York. She married the love of her life, Jimmy Dale Wright Jr, on September 12, 1970. Jimmy joined the US Army and he and Doris were stationed in many areas in the US and Germany. They finally settled in Huntsville where they raised their family. Doris Ann (Ann Baby) worked at Kroger on Drake Avenue for many years. She was loved by customers and co-workers alike. She missed her friends when her health forced her to retire.
Doris Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Wright; her parents, John William Moore and Doris Elizabeth Moore Tomkins; and her sister, Sara Moore Drew.
Doris Ann is survived by four children, Jamie Wright (Bessie), Ann Marie Wright (Jamaine Tucker), John Wright (Ruby) and Sara Wright (Tyler Whisenant); her eight grandchildren who she loved so much; Zachary and Karter Tucker, Jeremy, Anthony and Timothy Wright, Kali, Levi and Cobi Whisenant; numerous nieces and nephews; and many long-time friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 27th, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, Inc. from 1-2 followed by a memorial service at 2:00.
