Harold Edward Walton 92, of Lawrenceville, GA died Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at his residence in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

He was born in Needham, MA. August 7, 1926, to Harold Radford and Clara Cornelia Lee Walton. He served in the US Army Sept. 4, 1944 to October 26, 1946. He received his BA degree from Boston University in 1950, and his Bachelor of Divinity degree at Candler School of Theology, Emory University in 1953. He served as a United Methodist Minister in the South Carolina Conference 1953 – 1966 and in the Peninsula Conference 1966 – 1991.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 53 years, Norma Jo Walton.

He is survived by daughters, Clara Kate Walton (Brian) Welch and Clois Lynn Walton Bell; sister, Maralyn (James) Mayo; grandchildren, Rebecca Jo (Kody) Welch-Jernigan, Shannon Lynn Bell (Mathieu) Genois, and Jeff Walton Bell; great granchild, Benjamin Bell Genois; niece, Virginia Mayo (Michael) Hamel; nephew, Richard (Rose) Mayo.

A Public Visitation will be held on Monday, April 29, 2019 at Johns-Ridouts Mortuary-Elmwood Chapel, Birmingham, Alabama from 10:00 AM until 10:30 AM.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 29, 2019 at Johns-Ridouts Mortuary-Elmwood Chapel, Birmingham, AL, at 10:30 AM. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery & Mausoleum, Birmingham, AL.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Harold can be made to your local church.
