The funeral service for Sid Sorensen, age 68 of Delta, will be held on Saturday , April 27, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Bro. Byron Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Sorensen passed away on Friday, April 19, 2019 at his home. He was a mechanic, and loved working on trucks and cars, especially Fords. He enjoyed fishing, and watching the sun rise while drinking his morning coffee. He was a former resident of the Mount Olive community in Jefferson County and had worked as a truck driver at Camp Ketona for over 25 years.
Mr. Sorensen is survived by his wife, Alier Miller Sorensen of Delta; two daughters: Tracy Simmons (Steve) of Sylvania, and Anita Butler (David) of Delta; one son, Thomas Wayne Sorensen (Paula) of Blountsville; three brothers: Buddy Sorensen of Rainsville, Ray Sorensen of Warrior, and Rickey Sorensen of Mt. Olive; also twelve grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Norman and Lora Mae Alley Sorensen; and his brother, David Sorensen.
Codey Jacobs, Kaleb Jacobs, Justin Jacobs, Michael Hogeland, Timmy Sorensen and Destin Sorensen will serve as pallbearers.
