Nancy Phyllis Wiltshire Strickland, 65, died Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Sanctuary Hospice, Tupelo, MS. She was born in Attala County, MS and worked at the Itawamba County School District for thirty-two years. She was a member of Fulton United Methodist Church where she was organist for twelve years.
Services will be Friday, April 19, 11 a.m. at Fulton United Methodist Church, Fulton, MS with Rev. Phillip Box and Rev. John Foster officiating. Burial will be in Old Bethel Cemetery, Golden, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her husband of forty-five years – Jerry Strickland, Fulton, MS; two daughters– Jennifer Jenkins (Doug) and Rebekah Carsten (Beau) all of Fulton, MS; one granddaughter – Emma Jayne Carsten; her mother – Nancy Wiltshire, Belmont, MS; three sisters – Sylvia Chamblee (Robert) Fulton, MS, Dixie Griffin (Tim) Iuka, MS and Donna McAnally (Mark) Oxford, MS; one brother – Buddy Wiltshire (Peggy) Belmont, MS and eleven nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Wiltshire and her mother-in-law, Laverne Strickland.
Her nephews will serve as pallbearers – Robby Chamblee, Lee Griffin, Jake McAnally, Wesley Wiltshire, Travis Neal, Marcus Schallock and Harrison Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Dew, Herbert Dew and Benton Nail.
Visitation will be Friday, April 19, 9 -11 a.m. at Fulton United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to Sanctuary Hospice, 5159 W. Main Street, Tupelo, MS 38801.
