Kenneth L. Flannagin – Obituary

Kenneth L. Flannagin, 75, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2019. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 8, at New Sockwell Baptist Church with Bennie Terry and Richard Parker officiating. He will lie-in-state at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. The burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery.

Kenneth was a native of Colbert County and a member of New Sockwell Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Alabama National Guard and a retired lineman with AT&T. He also volunteered with the Colbert County Sheriff, Littleville Police, and Littleville Volunteer Fire Departments, and Colbert Rescue Squad.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Flannagin; parents, Paul M. and Mildred Flannagin; brothers, Douglas, Roger, and Paul Jr. Flannagin; and sister, Betty Ann Hallmark.

He is survived by his son, Jerry McClurg; daughter, Angela Flannagin; brothers, Melvin and Dale Flannagin; sisters, Helen Kirby, and Lila Hovater; grandchildren, Sabrina Chowning, Jarred McClurg, Shawn Tilley, and Adrian McClurg.

Pallbearers will include Josh Chowning, Shawn Tilley, Jared McClurg, Joel Fisher, Jim Fisher, and Dale Flannagin.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
