Funeral services for Jerry Ann Brown Luker, age 79 of Talladega, will be Saturday, April 6, 2019, at 2 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Rev. Warren Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Clay County Memory Gardens.

 

Mrs. Luker passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at St. Vincent’s East Medical Center in Trussville. Born in Cullman, she graduated from Ensley High School, after which she moved to Birmingham, and then Clay County, where she lived for almost 20 years. She retired after working 20 years as a telephone operator at GTE. And then became a bookkeeper for Energy Absorption. Mrs. Luker was a member of First Baptist Church in Ashland, and was a loving mother and grandmother.

 

Mrs. Luker is survived by four children: Leslie Pedraza (Lance) of Pell City, Jeff Luker (Lennie) of Ashland, Lance Luker of Talladega, and Bo Luker (Julie) of Pell City; one sister, Bobbie Glass of Irondale; two brothers: Johnny Mack Brown (Gail) of Sumiton and Bill Brown (Rhonda) of McCalla; nine grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, a large extended family and especially the Endress Family.

 

Shaun Luker, Matthew Luker, Trae Luker, Cameron Luker, Trevon Edwards, Ben Oliphant, Robbie Robertson, Walt Endress, Buzz Endress, and Miles Mathis will serve as pallbearers.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents: Aubrey Brown and Ola Mae Canant Brown, and one son, Mark Luker.

 

The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home on Saturday, April 6, 2019 from 12:30 P.M. until service time at 2 P.M.
