The funeral service for Barby L. Miller, age 81 of Ashland, will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 2 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Rev. Chad Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Clay County Memory Gardens
Mr. Miller passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at his home. After graduating from Lineville High School in 1956, he enlisted in the U.S. Air force, the U.S. Navy, and finally retired from the U.S. Army National guard. Mr. Miller was the owner and operator of NAPA, and also owned “Miller tire” in Sylacauga. He was a collector of antique cars, an avid Alabama fan, and was a member of Shiloh Baptist church.
Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Nell Miller of Ashland; one son, Tim Worthy (Coline) of Lineville; three grandchildren: Chloe Butler (Mac), Fortune Worthy and Cole Worthy; and two great-grandchildren: Baylor and Benton Butler.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Ellerson Miller and Annie Mae Mitchell Miller; 6 sisters: Imelda Smith, Ida Nelson, Arlis Saxon, Gladys Williams, Bonnie Key, and Virginia Sims; and two brothers: L.D. Miller and John Robert Miller.
Cole Worthy, Wendell McLain, Skipper Worthy, Tim Saxon, Reggie Barrett, and Ronnie Bishop will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville on Thursday, March 28, 2019 from 12:30 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M.
