Maria Fern Alexander Cook, 59, of Muscle Shoals, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2019. Visitation Saturday, March 9, 2019, from noon to 2 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with service following at 2 p.m. Dr. Robert Gamble officiating. Burial in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Annie King Alexander; mother-in-law, Evelyn Sisk Cook; and her husband James “Jim” Walter Cook.
She is survived by her son, Alex Cook (Deanna); daughter, Kelley Woods (Justin); grandchildren, Cohen Woods, Eli Woods and Logan Woods; brothers-in-law, Charles “Pat” Cook (Cindy) and Mike Cook (Peggy); nephews, Michael, Lee and Ross; and niece, Stephanie Jones.
Pallbearers: Mike Cook, Pat Cook, Michael Cook, Lee Cook, Ross Cook and Hunter Cook.
Maria worked at Eliza Memorial Coffee Hospital for over 30 years starting as an aide and working her way to one of the best nurses at ECM Hospital. Her caring and Compassionate nature along with her skills and passion for nursing enriched not only the lives of her patients but her co-workers and family as well. Her infectious smile and laugh will be missed by all who knew her.
