Shirley Poole – Obituary

 Mr. Shirley Poole of Pulaski passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Hewitt House Assistant Living in Pulaski. He was born in Diana, TN. on May 24, 1929 and was 89 years old.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a friend to all. Mr. Poole graduated from Beech Hill High School in l947 where he played basketball and was Valedictorian of his class. He went on to Martin College and played basketball and attended Middle Tennessee State College in Murfreesboro. He was a veteran of the United States Army, principal and coach at Elkton, was assistant Superintendent of Giles County Schools, active in the Exchange Club and member of Pisgah United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 27th from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home.

Funeral Service takes place on Thursday, February 28th at 3:00pm in the Chapel of Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home with Paul McKinney and Caroline Farmer officiating.

Burial will follow at Pisgah Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his wife of many years, Frances Faulkenberry Poole, and parents Burris and Mary Margie Poarch Poole.
He is survived by his,
Daughter, Debra (Don) Tillman of Pulaski
Daughter, Mary Ann (Johnny) Bass of Pulaski
Son, Dennis Poole of Elkton
Grandchildren, Christian and Erik Grepperud, Chad (Lauren) Long and Rebecca (Eliott) Virula, Seletha and Loren Feriman, and Sarah Poole.
Great-grandchildren, Hunter Grepperud, Shelby and Addison Long, Hayden Long, Mason Ofelia Virula.
Sister-in-law, Brownie F. West of Pulaski
Numerous friends and several cousins also survive.
