Margaret Jean Wisdom – Obituary

F 2.5.19 Margaret Wisdom.jpgMargaret Jean Wisdom, 78, of Muscle Shoals, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 6th in the funeral home chapel with hospice chaplain, Tom Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery.

Margaret was a native of Colbert County and a member of the Baptist Church. “Mom being homebound for so many years was not able to join in a lot of extra activities. She loved all kinds of puzzles to keep her mind sharp (crosswords, Sudoku, Word search, etc.)”

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, William Johnny Wisdom; parents, Floyd and Ruthie Mae Strickland; and sisters, Annie Mae Strickland McClung, Betty Jane Fountain (Rather) and Dorothy Marie Richardson; and son-in-law, Stan Denton.

She is survived by her sons, Johnny Wisdom (Jean) of Tuscaloosa, Sammy Wisdom (Michelle) and David Wisdom (Michelle), both of Muscle Shoals, and Doug Wisdom (Marci) of Leighton; daughter, Teresa Denton of Muscle Shoals; brothers, Jimmy L. Strickland (Louise) of Florence and Lois Eugene “Buck” Strickland (Debbie) of Clarksville, Tennessee; sister, Donnie Vines (Ronnie) of Olive Branch, Mississippi; brother-in-law, George T. Richardson of Virginia; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Decota, Johnny Jr., Andy and Harold Wisdom, Grant Bond and Brian Denton. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Logan and Steven Wisdom, John Michael Denton and Christopher Browder.

The family expresses special thanks to Southern Care New Beacon Hospice, Nurse Shea, Social Workers Stephanie and LaMonica, and Chaplain Tom Wood. Also, to Sue Lane for all the love, kindness, and care she gave to Margaret. “We appreciate and love you all.”
