FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department issued a statement concerning the arrest of a suspect on Sunday, February 3 who was wanted on charges of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument and one count of Theft of Property 3rd:
“On Sunday February 3rd Officers located Maria Okelley at Baymont Inn in Florence. While checking her identification they found that she had warrants with Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office. Ms. Okelley was arrested and transported to the Lauderdale County Detention Center. She is charged with four counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument and one count of Theft of Property 3rd. She has a $7,500.00 bond.
The charges stem from Ms. Okelley passing four known stolen and forged checks. She did not know the victims. The financial loss was approximately $1100.00.
The spelling of her last name is how it is spelled on her driver license. At the time of her arrest she gave us a Muscle Shoals address.”
