FLORENCE-Florence welcomed a new fast-casual taco restaurant on Monday, January 28, 2019. After months of anticipation from the community, and meticulous planning and preparation by restaurateurs, Cindy and Rick Story, Taco Garage opened its doors to its second location in Florence at 11 a.m on Monday.

The Taco Garage concept is based on serving up “Real Food for Real People That Tastes Real Good.” The uncomplicated menu is full of fan favorites, including build-your-own tacos, salads, and enchiladas, as well as more traditional plates that are served with rice and beans.

The Storys have incorporated sides that you would expect from a taco joint, such as chips and salsa, guacamole, queso, beans, rice, and homemade flour tortillas. They also offer crispy fries fresh from the fryer, that can be served up “Mexicali” or “Garage” style.

To top of their menu, customers can order margaritas and both bottled and draft beers, in addition to fountain sodas and fresh-brewed iced tea.

While the menu is straightforward and uncomplicated, the Story team has left no inch of the restaurant untouched by their over-the-top design concept. Immediately upon entry, diners are immersed in the brand as they follow directional signage that nods to the garage concept, and are met with big wall installations and murals that bring the concept to life.

There are several TV screens throughout the restaurant that will be tuned in to sporting events on game days. The Storys’ hope is that their restaurant will become the go-to gathering spot for friends, the perfect place to meet up with family, and the taco spot of choice for the Florence area.

Taco Garage opened on Monday in Market Square Shopping Center at 2091 Mall Road in Florence, AL.
