Rickey Dean Holland – Obituary

Rickey Dean Holland, 66, died Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at North Mississippi Medical Center following a brief illness.  He was born August 30, 1952 in Tupelo, MS to Dean and Alma Albritton Holland.  Rickey was a pleasant man who had a zest for life. He enjoyed fishing, going to auctions, and was a HUGE Alabama fan.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and cutting-a-block with them on his wheelchair.

A celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m., Friday, January 25, 2019 in the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Lee Sparks officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM January 24, 2019 at Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors in Tupelo. Private Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Plantersville.

Survivors include his daughter, Teresa Mitchell (Michael) of Fulton; his son, Scotty Holland (Wendy) of Hattiesburg, brothers John Barnes (Tanya)of Pontotoc; Todd Royce (Patty) of Dorsey; and Thad Royce       ( Diane) of Aberdeen ;sisters Martha Thompson (James) of Belden; Nicci Hall of Plantersville; and Denise Neal of Brewer; grandchildren are Brandi Holland (Tony Webb); Lane Holland; Jay Hughes; Paisley Holland and Haleigh Smith; great grandchild; Cayden Webb; Mother of his children Sarah Deutsch and best friend and coffee drinker Bobby McCaine; He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Mike Bonds; Bo Mitchell; Scotty Holland; Travis Craft; Phil Bickert and Shayne Baswell Honorary pallbearers will be Lane Holland and Jay Hughes
