Mary Nell “Stone” Morris, a long time resident of Guntersville, AL,
passed away January 17, 2019 at the age of 93.
Mary Nell was born November 15,1925 in the Grassy community near Arab,
Alabama and was the daughter of the late Oliver (“O.D”) and Maude Stone.
Three sisters, Marie Duren, Wynona Adair and Lucille Carroll preceded her in death.
Mary Nell devoted many years of her life as an American Red Cross “Gray Lady” volunteer at the Guntersville Hospital, she was a devoted member of
the Church Of Christ of Guntersville for over 68 years, and she served for many years on the Board of Directors of the United Way Foundation.
She is survived by her children Debbie Bennett (Pete) of Birmingham,
Larry Morris (Jackie) and Stan Morris all of Guntersville, Grandchildren
Leigh Bennett, Jake Morris and the late Carley Morris, and Great Grandchildren Duncan, Madeline, Finley and Caden Morris.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary Nell’s memory may be made to
The Alzheimer’s Association or to any animal shelter.
Funeral Arrangements are pending at this time.
