Ellis Eugene Strait, of Russellville, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018 at the age of 77. His visitation will be Friday, January 4, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Jeremy Sanderson officiating. Burial will follow in Railroad Cemetery, Iron City, TN.
Ellis was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and proudly served during Vietnam. He was preceded in death by parents, Ellis and Kathryn Strait; brothers, Arvel Strait and Donald Strait; and two infant sisters. He was the former mayor of Littleville and he loved dirt track racing.
Survivors include his sons, Eddie Strait (Monica) and Donnie Strait (Teresa); daughter, Carol Strait; sisters, Diane Wright and Dale Landers (Kenneth); grandchildren, Jonathan and Justin Strait, Corey Strait, Kaylee Strait, Frankie Meade and Caroline Thompson; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Strait, Justin Strait, Frankie Meade, Wade Strait, Jeremy Lindsey and Bradley Landers.
